THE PLOT:
William Phillips is a self-centered architect who stumbles upon an alien conspiracy. Summoned to room 86 as a favor he quickly
discovers that Room 86 is where the alien insects put people that get too close, but not to die waiting in line.
After escaping with a handful of other people that got to close to the truth, they escape and try to piece together all
they know to form one insidious plan against the human race.
ZEDD'S OPINION:
The final days of planet earth, there's a movie that you hope don't live up to the title. Now where to begin, the Mantis effects
are kind of cool, the story is pretty cool and acting was well done. But I got to admit, I wasn't too impressed with our cowardly
hero, we might as well had Shaggy from SCOOBY-DOO trying to save the world. Now Daryl Hannah is one sexily evil queen. She
can be sexy one minute and rip your face off the next. I got to admit, the special effects are impressive. Now the other little
thing at almost three hours, the movie does get a little long. But it is worth the ride, so if you got three hours with nothing
to do, you can do worse then THE FINAL DAYS OF PLANET EARTH, I give it 8 STARS.

VOLTRON'S OPINION:
I agree with Zedd on both the good points and the bad. The "hero" of this piece almost gets to the point of being
annoying with his cowardly attitude. But the other good elements do make up for this annoyance. I give it 7 STARS.

ON THE POSITIVE SIDE (+ HITS):
+ EFFECTS (Some great effects.)
+ MANTIS DESIGN (The mantis design is so cool!)
+ STORY (Alien insect invasion.)
+ CAST (The cast does a great job.)
ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE (- MISSES):
- COWARDLY HERO (The cowardices of the main character got annoying at times.)
- LONG (At around 3 hours, it gets a tad long.)
...AND FINALLY...
- FAN BASED (If you aren't one for invading insects from space, then this isn't for you.)
